Nucleon Energy is pleased to be working with EXCEL Services Corporation in support of the Arkansas Legislature’s Joint Energy Committee as it advances a structured screening of potential sites and use cases for new nuclear generation in the state.

The Committee’s study scope includes land and siting criteria, evaluation of advanced reactor options including Small Modular Reactors (SMRs), and practical considerations such as transmission access and transportation capabilities.

EXCEL brings decades of nuclear sector consulting experience and is widely recognized for its expertise in nuclear licensing, regulatory compliance, new reactor and technology evaluation, and ongoing engagement with industry and regulatory initiatives. EXCEL’s approach is explicitly technology-neutral, enabling objective, side-by-side comparisons across viable reactor pathways.

Nucleon’s role as a private-sector developer complements this strength by grounding the analysis in real-world project development execution. Nucleon contributes practical siting-screening methodologies, stakeholder and community engagement experience, and a delivery-oriented perspective on how early siting conclusions translate into implementable development pathways for the state.

Together, EXCEL and Nucleon are supporting a fact-based, transparent process to help policymakers and stakeholders better understand where advanced nuclear technologies could be feasible in Arkansas, and what considerations will matter most for successful deployment.
